Why Enrol On This Course?
Airline selection is highly competitive, and many well-qualified candidates come unstuck simply because they’re underprepared – or preparing for the wrong things. They can fly perfectly well, but walk in without knowing what recruiters are actually assessing. Our Academy eLearning course changes that. It won’t just show you how you’re assessed, but crucially how to evidence the competencies they’re looking for. In fact, by the end of the course, you’ll understand the process so well you’ll feel like a recruiter yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you want to know more about how our pilot interview training courses can help you pass these crucial stages of any airline or flight school assessment process?
I need help with my pilot interview - what should I do?
You’re in the right place. Whether you’re applying to an airline or a flight school, Flight Deck Wingman offers a wide range of services to support you through your pilot interview.
A good first step is to understand that a pilot interview isn’t just about answering questions – it’s about evidencing the specific competencies recruiters are assessing. We’ll show you how to recognise which competency each question is really targeting, and how to structure your answers so you’re actively providing the recruiters with clear, concrete evidence of it- drawn from your own experiences.
Our Wingman Academy lets you learn online and at your own pace through structured video lessons. Every session is human-led and delivered by a current airline pilot and experienced recruiter, so you’re preparing with someone who understands the process from both sides. Whatever your interview involves, we’ll help you walk in confident, structured and ready.
What makes your training different?
Two things. First, it’s genuinely human-led – every lesson is developed and delivered by Wingman Andrew, a current airline pilot and experienced recruiter, never AI or generic content. Second, it’s built on our ‘Techniques Not Tip Offs’ approach: rather than trying to guess a specific airline’s questions, you learn transferable techniques that work for any interview or group exercise, anywhere in the world. You’re learning the process from someone who has sat on both sides of the table.
Will this help if I've been unsuccessful at an assessment before?
Yes – in fact, many of the pilots we work with come to us after a knockback elsewhere. It’s rarely about ability; more often it’s that they didn’t fully understand what was being assessed or how to evidence it. This course is designed to close exactly that gap, giving you a clear, structured approach so you can go back in with renewed confidence and a much stronger sense of what recruiters are really looking for.
I'm a military pilot moving to the airlines - is this course right for me?
Absolutely. Military pilots bring outstanding skills, but airline selection assesses things in a specific way, and the language and competencies recruiters look for aren’t always the ones you’re used to. This course helps you translate your military experience into exactly the evidence airline recruiters want to hear – so your background becomes a genuine advantage rather than something that gets lost in translation.
Which access period should I choose?
It depends on how much time you have before your assessment and how you like to learn. If your interview is coming up soon, the shorter access period lets you work through the essentials at pace. If you’d prefer to take your time, revisit modules and practise thoroughly, a longer period gives you that breathing room. Whichever you choose, you get the full course – and you can re-watch every lesson as many times as you like until your access expires.
What's the difference between the online course and one-to-one coaching?
Both training pathways work well – it comes down to how you prefer to learn. The Academy course lets you work through everything online, at your own pace, and revisit lessons whenever you need. One-to-one coaching gives you bespoke, personal support focused on exactly where you need it, available online or in person. Many pilots use the online course to build a solid foundation, then add coaching to sharpen specific areas before the big day.
