Frequently Asked Questions

We get asked a lot of questions about our Mock Interview service. Here are the answers to some of the most common, from what’s involved to how the feedback works.

A mock interview is brilliant for testing your readiness and showing you where to focus, but it works best as part of your wider preparation rather than on its own. The ideal companion is our Academy Interview & Group Exercise course, which takes you through the techniques for every stage in depth, online and at your own pace. Many pilots work through the course to build a strong foundation, then use a mock interview to put it into practice and check how they’re coming across under realistic conditions. Together, they give you both the knowledge and the real-world practice to walk in genuinely prepared.

A mock interview is a full, realistic pilot interview conducted under genuine interview conditions, followed by honest feedback on how you performed. It’s ideal for anyone with an interview coming up who wants to check their readiness, and for aspiring pilots who want to see how they’d handle the real thing. You make your mistakes with us, not in the interview that actually counts.

It’s conducted online via video call at your booked time, and run just like a real airline interview by an experienced pilot and recruiter. You’ll be asked a realistic range of questions, and assessed on how well you evidence the competencies recruiters are really looking for. Afterwards, you’ll receive detailed feedback on your performance.

You choose the feedback that suits you: a written report, an immediate verbal debrief, or both. Whichever you pick, the feedback focuses on how well you evidenced the key competencies, with clear explanation of where you performed well and where there’s room to develop, so you know exactly what to work on before the real thing.

We use a realistic range of question types, just as you’d face in a real airline interview, including getting-to-know-you, motivational, competency-based and scenario-based questions. We won’t tell you the questions in advance, because rehearsing set answers is exactly what catches candidates out. The aim is to prepare you for anything, not to script you.

Practice pilot aptitude testing is included with this service however it is optional for you to complete ahead of your mock interview. If you do, your results can be discussed as part of your feedback.

Absolutely. In fact, it’s one of the most useful things you can do. Experiencing a realistic interview in a safe, no-pressure environment removes a lot of the fear of the unknown, and the feedback shows you exactly where to focus, long before it counts.
