Interview only

You will be tested on and receive 100% bespoke feedback in the following areas:

Conducted by one of the Flight Deck Wingman team, you will be invited to take part in up to a one hour ‘evidence based’ assessment of your inherent competencies that indicate the likelihood of you being successful in the career of an airline pilot.

A detailed written PDF report on your performance during the interview. This will include in depth feedback on areas where you scored well and areas where you may need to develop both personally and professionally, thus giving you the essential information you need to ensure that you can focus your preparation ahead of your real assessment.
A summary which will include areas of strength and areas for improvement, with a recommendation moving forward.
Psychometric + Interview

You will be tested on and receive 100% bespoke feedback in the following areas:

Completed remotely by the candidate, these tests assess your inherent ability for the role of pilot. You will be assessed across three areas: Numerical, Verbal and Inductive Reasoning. These types of test frequently form part of an airline or academy selection process. Soon after making your booking, you will receive an email link inviting you to complete your online tests.

A PDF document showing your results in all 3 areas of the psychometric tests, including areas for improvement.

How can I prepare?

Some top tips to help you prepare for your Airline Pilot Skills Test.

Please take some time to prepare for your interview! We want to get to know the real you – this is a chance for you to shine and show us why you are suited to the role of a commercial pilot! You can expect to answer a range of different styles of questions where you can evidence the competencies that you possess that will mean you are likely to be successful in your flying training and beyond. Here are some commonly assessed competencies. You might like to research the “STAR” framework ahead of your interview:

We strongly recommend practising some psychometric testing ahead of this assessment and of course ahead of any real assessment too! In this assessment you will be assessed in Numerical, Verbal and Inductive Reasoning tests, commonly used by airlines and academies during an assessment process.
